You get better at your drawing/painting skills with every piece of work you finish and display here. I'm mightily impressed. The shading is beautiful and the watermelon seeds make this very real. And mouth-watering.

It's not about what I have seen, it's about what I wanted to see.
As of right now though, all of the values used are generally the same. If you squint your eyes and look at the piece, you'll see that the values mix together and nothing "pops" from the piece (mind you, I'm going from the scan since I've never seen the original drawing) Even looking at the work without squinting, there are no true blacks and true whites. As so, there is no defined light source. (as it is drawn here) Now, there is a hint on one coming from the right side but not all the fruit abide by that light source. (give or take, only one watermelon piece does.)
This is a great start, just adding darker and lighter shades wil push it even more.
But as I said before, the watermelon is wonderfully rendered. It makes me want to jump into the work and EAT it, and I really really hate watermelon.
You've improved on your pencil skills with each piece submitted in your gallery. Keep it up! It's so worth it. < 3
What are all the fruits drawn here?

Eternity means nothing but a sign on a bridge.
"But I believe in peace.
I believe in peace Bitch."
(4 slices) of watermelon, (1 whole + 2 slices) of starfruit and (1 bunch) of bananas.
If you want to view the original picture --> [link] It's taken using my handphone, so quality may not be so good.
The thinner watermelon slices (except for the bigger one) and the starfruits are all in a shadow. Hence, it's only the Banana and the single slice of watermelon that defines the light source. So yes, I could have done more shading on the Bananas (:
Still trying to improve on my drawing skills, because this is actually the 3rd realistic drawing I've completed. (:
